About The Grove CDC

In 1994, The Greater Piney Grove Baptist Church established Higher Plains Ministries, Inc., a 501 (c) 3 Georgia non-profit corporation, to promote the church's membership into spiritual prosperity; to administer to the needs of the poor and afflicted members and non-members of the congregation; and to conduct schools for the training of youth.  To further address the growing need of our surrounding community, the name of the organization was changed to "Higher Plain Community Development, Inc."

In June 2008, the Board of Directors saw a need to restructure the current organization, in order to incorporate commissions that would deal with the pressing needs of the community.  To accurately reflect the incorporation of the commissions, the organization's name was changed to The Greater Piney Grove Community Development, Inc.  As the non-profit affiliate of The Greater Piney Grove Community Church, The GPG Community Development, Inc. serves persons connected to the church and surrounding community who reside in Metro Atlanta.

Today, The Greater Piney Grove Community Development, Inc is a 501 c 3 nonprofit organization  working towards building "Communities within Communities" through Housing, Educational and Economic Development initiatives for persons residing in Metro Atlanta through various partnerships.

It is governed by a Board of Directors whose skills, knowledge, associations, and expertise has proven to be a great asset to the organization. 

Ms. Chianti Mitchell is the Executive Director and she is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the organization.
